Our Story: From a Messy Kitchen to 30,000 Feet

QB Snacks is proudly 100% New Zealand-made. Our journey started in a family kitchen with a bloke on a mission: find a keto snack that actually tasted good.

After many months—and driving the family slightly mad with the constant smell of cheese, a crunchy snack emerged that was a hit with everyone, not just the keto crowd. Much to the family’s relief, the operation eventually outgrew the kitchen. We moved to the Food Factory in Nelson before finding our current home in a beautiful 400sqm converted winery in Hope.

Award-Winning Crunch

The last few years have been a bit of a whirlwind!

  • July 2022: We won the Start-up Category for the national Foodstuffs FoodStarter competition. This was a huge milestone that helped get QBs onto New World shelves nationwide.

  • The Great Kiwi Snack Off: Just when we thought it couldn't get better, Air New Zealand launched a nationwide search for the best snacks in the country. Out of over 400 entries, QB’s Crunchy Cheese was selected as one of the few winners to be served onboard! Now, our Nelson-made snacks are enjoyed by travellers at 30,000 ft.   • Doing Our Bit: We use soft plastic recyclable packaging, so our bags can be recycled via the Love NZ Soft Plastics program at your local supermarket.
